Our office files comprehensive Medicaid, SSI, and SSA applications. We know how to navigate through the system, and we can eliminate uncomfortable situations by representing you personally at all face to face interviews. We communicate regularly with all caseworkers. Assisted Living is a special combination of housing, personalized supportive services and health care designed to respond to the individual needs of those who need help with activities of daily living, but do not need skilled medical care provided in a nursing home. The assisted living life style promotes independence, dignity, and peace of mind for seniors who need a helping hand. Residents have the freedom to choose how they spend their days, while selecting the most appropriate level of support. Nursing Homes are facilities that offer specialized care for people with skilled nursing needs. Many provide physical therapy, dialysis, tube feeding and IV therapy. We assist in identifying the appropriate nursing home that will meet the needs of the patient, but will also be geographically convenient to the family. We often assist in moving people from out of state to New York. We identify various home care agencies. We define registered/certified agencies as well as registries, employment agencies and private workers. We define costs and level of care. We use nurses for PRI evaluations that are fair and objective and can aide us in appropriate Nursing Home placements. Long Term Care Insurance is designed to pay for non-acute skilled or unskilled care that Medicare doesn't cover. It can pay for beneficiaries with chronic long term disabilities living at home who need assistance with impaired activities of daily living (ADLs) - bathing; toileting, eating, incontinence, dressing and transferring from bed to chair - and for those with cognitive impairments who may need "stand-by" or "hands-on" supervision for safety. Long Term Care Insurance is also designed for those who must turn to nursing home care. Remember a long term care insurance policy is only worthwhile if it provides you with the benefits you need. Be very careful in choosing the best policy. We work closely with attorneys who are members of the National Association of Eldercare attorneys. We will furnish you with a list of those attorneys who we feel will best meet your needs. We will get involved with social work discharge planners at the hospital and will advocate for the patient, making sure their best needs are met. We will assist and coordinate all services for the patient and family. We will develop a comprehensive care plan. When you leave our office you will feel focused and directed.
